eCabinet, the mechatronic-based software, is now also available in English – for truly global use. Users will also be pleasantly surprised by the added benefits in terms of project handling, documentation and data transfer. SPS/IPC/DRIVES in Nuremberg was the premier showcase for the latest version of eCabinet, which was completed in time for launching at this fall’s principal automation-related trade fair. Users were excited at the prospect of a truly global switchgear configuration software, well aware that multi-lingual documentation is becoming ever more important in everyday engineering practice.

Project handling benefits

eCabinet offers a host of impressive technical advancements right across the board. The main emphasis is on simplicity and speed of project handling: When generating and updating projects, key parameters such as project name, order no., editor etc. are automatically updated. The stamp function likewise aids design work by ensuring the error-free labeling of project details using preset templates. This means that manual labeling has now become a thing of the past, which in turn saves valuable engineering time. Best of all, quality has also undergone a major boost, thanks to automatic documentation of the project parameters in layout and list outputs.

Integrative and flexible

These days, consistent support throughout the company workflow is more important than ever before. eCabinet ensures closer integration with merchandise information systems. Bills of materials may be forwarded directly to MRP systems or Office products (such as Excel), for easier post-calculation of projects, for example.



Enclosure data available

Getting started with cabinet configuration is now easier than ever, because users can select from a list of 3D models of most standard enclosures or import them directly via interfaces. Cabinet baying has also become particularly user-friendly, allowing simple, logical imports of both eCabinet’s own cabinets and all enclosures from the Rittal component catalog RiCAD 3D.

Ready for production

The range of production details is rounded off by new punching and burning patterns such as rounded rectangles, slots, hexagons and octagons. All the available patterns may, of course, be transferred directly to production, including automatic drilling machines. The benefits of eCabinet are not confined to engineering, but also support data transfer to the production department.
