Description

English Description::::::

With its wealth of physical models and efficient solution methods, FIDAP is the flow modeling tool of choice for applications such as polymer processing, thin film coating, biomedical, semiconductor crystal growth, metallurgy, and glass processing. Based on the finite element method, FIDAP offers complete mesh flexibility and robust and efficient calculations. With its special, easy-to-edit scripting language, FIDAP makes it easy to do repetitive parametric studies where automatic modification of material properties or operating conditions is required. FIDAP is available for Unix/Linux and Windows workstations and is optimized for parallel processing.

Customers have reported a dramatic return on investment by introducing CFD modeling with FIDAP into their design processes. Read more about FIDAP to see what it can do for you.

FIDAP offers numerous physical and numerical models for simulations ranging from highly viscous laminar flows to fully turbulent flows. Complex free surface flows can be modeled with both the arbitrary Lagrange-Eulerian (ALE) and the volume of fluid (VOF) methods, in combination with solid deformation, if appropriate. Solid bodies can be included in the simulation either after a phase change (metal casting or crystal growth, for example) or as a result of fluid-structure interaction (FSI). Other multiphysics applications can be solved in FIDAP using models for electrohydrodynamics (EHD) and magnetohydrodynamics (MHD).

Optionally, an advanced expert interface allows for rapid modification of any parameter(s), whereas a simplified template (PRESTO) is available to help beginners through their first simulations. Advanced postprocessing is delivered by FIELDVIEW, the default postprocessor of FIDAP, which is embedded in the product.
