Bentley OpenPlant has gained popularity among engineers because it allows them to easily create intelligent models of complex industrial facilities. Modeling of pipelines, equipment, supports and complex support nodes, instruments, cable trays, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems is based on catalogs, which saves a significant amount of time, and virtually all working documentation is generated automatically. This means that engineers do not have to manually refine isometric and orthogonal drawings, specifications, schedules, and reports. In addition, OpenPlant minimizes potential errors and significantly reduces the time required to prepare each drawing.

During the design process, engineers can exchange data and respond quickly to model changes made by engineers in related departments, such as master planning, construction, electrical engineering, and other departments working in Bentley software, thanks to the seamless integration of all systems with each other. Information entered once is not re-entered and is available to all project team members. This saves time spent on re-entering data and eliminates errors. The OpenPlant solution is based on ISO 15926 standards, which allows information to be exchanged between OpenPlant and other software, manufacturer catalogs, and any applications that support these standards.

OpenPlant PowerPID is designed to create intelligent process and functional automation diagrams. The product comes with a library of symbols that comply with ISA, ISO, and GOST standards, as well as catalogs of equipment and piping products from Russian and foreign manufacturers.

OpenPlant Modeler is designed to place parametric and standard equipment from catalogs in a three-dimensional model space, as well as for interactive tracing of pipelines and placement of pipeline elements, supports, HVAC, instrumentation, and cable trays in a 3D model. The product comes with a database of equipment and pipeline elements from Russian and foreign manufacturers.

OpenPlant Isometrics Manager is designed for quick and automatic generation of isometric drawings based on 3D pipeline models.
