Query-based Active Topology

With query-based active topology, you can now set active topology for a system based on a query. To facilitate this, a new Year Retired property has been included for pipes and different nodes, like tanks and pumps.

To use this feature, go to the Home or Tools tab and select Active Topology. There is an item called Edit Active Topology Mode, where you can choose to select active topology from the drawing or based on a query. You can also set this Active Topology Mode in the Active Topology alternative.

If you select to choose active topology based on a query, you can then edit your queries through the item in the Ribbon interface or in the alternative. Clicking the Edit Queries will open the Query manager. Click the New button to add an element type. You can select Pipe or Customer Meters. Once the element is selected, click the Query Builder button to create the query.

Suppose you want to create a query based on year a conduit was installed. After choosing Pipe as the element type for the query, click Query Builder. You will see a list of properties to choose from. Select "Year Installed," then the operator, then enter a value. You click the Unique Valves to see a list of values from the properties field.

Click Okay, and the query will be included in the Queries manager. To apply this to the model, click the Apply button. The number of elements will be listed.

To apply this query to Active Topology, go to the Home or Tools tab and select Active Topology > Apply Queries. You can also do this operation through the Active Topology alternative.
