Simcenter Amesim 2511: Integrated System Simulation for Electrification & Hydrogen

Simcenter Amesim 2511 is the latest release of Siemens' multi-domain system simulation platform, delivering major advancements in heat exchanger design, hydrogen powertrain modeling, battery pack integration, and electrified chassis engineering.

Key New Features in 2511

Heat Exchanger Assistant Enhancements

The heat exchanger assistant now supports fin-and-tube and multi-core micro-channel geometries, with automatic sketch generation and integrated 2D/3D visualization. Engineers can evaluate size and mass directly during geometry definition, providing real-time insights into packaging feasibility before running simulations.

Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Modeling

A new fuel-cell turboprop demonstrator provides a ready-to-use model showing gas, liquid, and cryogenic hydrogen interactions across a complete flight cycle. It covers cryogenic tank behavior, Boil-off Gas (BOG) management, and fuel-cell stack operation. An improved hydrogen aging model enables long-term performance decay assessment and its impact on power output, efficiency, and mission range.

Battery Pack Assistant

Battery designers can now automatically transfer cell electrical parameters from a verified database or existing model directly into the battery pack assistant. A new capability allows thermal discretization of pattern groupings in any direction (X, Y, Z) to better capture critical heat variations across the pack.

Electrified Chassis & E-Motors

A new electric motorcycle demo model integrates 3D mechanical library and vehicle dynamics for analyzing ride and handling. The Ground Designer tool now includes batch processing for creating virtual test fields with customizable obstacle heights, shapes, and spacing. The enhanced Squirrel Cage Induction Machine (SCIM) model includes detailed loss definitions and nonlinear inductance for accurate electro-thermal simulation.

New Gas Library

A unified, real-time-capable gas library replaces multiple legacy pneumatic and gas libraries. It includes ISO-6358 compliant components and Redlich-Kwong-Soave (RKS) equations of state for compressible flow simulation, fully compatible with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) applications
