Symmetry 2026.1 is the latest release of SLB's collaborative process simulation software for upstream, midstream, downstream, and new energy sectors. This version introduces the Tela AI assistant, native EOS-CG/GERG-2008 thermodynamics, a dynamics diagnostics tool, and enhanced workflow automation .

Tela AI Assistant

Symmetry 2026.1 introduces the Tela AI Assistant, SLB's domain-oriented AI technology that provides instant guidance on unit operations, calculations, variables, and workflows . This marks a significant shift from traditional "solver + GUI" to "Agentic AI" interaction—engineers can ask questions and receive answers drawn from the Symmetry manual, knowledge base, and application examples . Tela is a separate software package requiring independent licensing .

Native Thermodynamic Models

  • EOS-CG and GERG-2008: Native implementation supporting multithreading with improved convergence control for dynamic simulations . EOS-CG is the standard model for carbon capture and storage (CCS) applications .

Dynamics Diagnostics Tool

A powerful new diagnostics feature automatically identifies slow-performing unit operations and pinpoints control loops or logic elements causing performance bottlenecks . Users can track variables throughout the run for deeper analysis of system behavior .

Deprecation Notice

Beginning with Symmetry 2027.1 (Q1 2027), the 32-bit installer will no longer be provided. Users must install the 64-bit version .
