Thunderhead PyroSim 2024.1.0702

Description

Thunderhead PyroSim 2024.1.0702
PyroSim is the user interface for the Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS) program. The FDS field model can predict the propagation of smoke, temperature, carbon monoxide, and other hazards during a fire. Modeling results are used to ensure building safety in design, determine the safety of existing buildings, reconstruct fires in investigations, and aid in firefighter training. FDS is a powerful fire modeling tool developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). FDS simulates fire scenarios using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) optimized for low-velocity, temperature-dependent flows. This approach proves to be very flexible, and can be applied to a variety of fires ranging from furnace combustion to oil tanker fires. Non-combustion modeling, such as ventilation in buildings, can also be performed using FDS. The FDS calculation model and the Smokeview visualization software are tightly integrated into PyroSim.
