With Drillworks® Geostress software, you can quickly identify wellbore stability problems prior to drilling and perform real-time wellbore stability analysis while drilling. Drillworks Geostress software helps operators maintain borehole integrity for fewer problems during drilling, logging and casing. Many stability-related problems can be avoided or reduced, including: • Tight holes • Excessive reaming and caving • Pack-offs • Casing-setting problems • Stuck pipe • Lost circulation • Sidetracks • Wellbore collapse Calculation of stress conditions allows fine-tuning of mud weights and casing depths—even for the most complex deviated well. The optimal mud weight window is easily viewed with a special graphical interface. Real-time wellbore stability analysis using MWD/LWD data acquired via WITS or WITSML™ transmission standards allows foot-by-foot computations of wellbore stresses and collapse pressures. Lower hemisphere plots graphically illustrate the impact of borehole geometry on mud weight requirements. Cardinal wellbore direction is shown as the circumference of the diagram, wellbore inclination emanates from the center and required mud weight is represented by the color. This type of diagram allows the well planner to look at specific depths and determine the optimum inclination and azimuth for borehole stability. Drillworks software is applied to a single- or multi-well project using three integrated application suites: Drillworks Standard, Pro, and Expert.
