Golden Software Surfer v31: 3D Mapping & Subsurface Visualization Software

Surfer 30 is Golden Software's professional 2D/3D mapping package for scientific and technical applications. The current version is 30.2.240 (released October 2025), with a 31.x Beta also available .

3D Drillhole Visualization (Major New Feature)

• Create, Edit & Export Contact Points: Define criteria (lithology, mineralization zones, time horizons) and Surfer automatically places contact points; export for gridding and surface creation

• Multiple Light Sources: Add up to 4 point/directional lights to fully illuminate both drillholes and surfaces

• Rename Layers: Organize 3D view content by renaming layers in Contents window; essential for managing multiple contour/image slices

Enhanced Mapping & Usability

• Legends for Unique Value Symbology: Auto-generate custom legends; control sample sizes, alignment, line samples, and polygon outlines. Only show properties actually used in the map

• Font Change Script: Sample script to globally change font attributes across axes, labels, contours, and other text objects

• Voxler CLR Import: Load colormap files (*.clr) directly from Voxler for consistent color schemes across programs
