Trimble Business Center v2025.20: Comprehensive Survey & Geospatial Office Software

Trimble Business Center (TBC) v2025.20 is the latest release of Trimble's industry-leading office software for surveying, reality capture, and geospatial professionals. Launched in November 2025, this feature-rich update celebrates 20 years of TBC and introduces highly requested capabilities including native target-based point cloud registration, expanded interoperability, and significant workflow enhancements across surveying, photogrammetry, and mobile mapping .

Key New Features in v2025.20

Reality Capture & Point Clouds

Feature Description
Target-Based Point Cloud Registration Automatically or manually extract spherical, checkerboard, and point targets to register scans with a target-based algorithm – a highly requested capability now built directly into TBC
New DSM Engine Enhanced photogrammetric processing for 2.5D and 3D data, including dense point clouds, true orthophotos, and textured meshes with improved radiometry, accuracy, and thin structure representation
Extract BIM Lines Create linestring copies of selected BIM objects containing line segments and arcs

Data Exchange & Interoperability

Feature Description
Export to MicroStation DGN Export lines, polylines, arcs, text, dimensions, meshes, and block references directly to .dgn files for Bentley MicroStation workflows
LandXML ISO 15143‑4 Support Upgraded importer/exporter to the latest ISO 15143-4 (2025) standard, with option to choose between ISO and legacy TBC 1.2 formats
Connected Workspace Enhancements Configure feature code libraries (.fxl) to Trimble Connect projects; transfer TBC projects through Trimble Cloud for backup and team sharing (subscription license required for Workspace tab)

Geodetics & Coordinate Systems

  • Coordinate System Database v113 & v114 – Added new systems including US SPCS 2022 (beta), ETRS89-DREF91(R25) for Germany, NGD2012 for Nigeria, CSRN2025 for California, SIRGAS-Chile 2025, SRGI2013 for Indonesia, and updated displacement models for Mexico and Chile mining regions

  • New Antennas – Added support for 12 new antennas from manufacturers including EFIX, GeoMate, GINTEC, Harxon, Leica GS15, Septentrio, STONEX, and Teria

  • Scale Ground Coordinates from 0,0 – New option to automatically scale from 0,0, eliminating manual entry issues when 0,0 falls outside the validity area (JXL/JOB files created with this feature are not backward compatible)

CAD & Drafting

  • Snap Sets – Save snap mode configurations by user with four predefined sets; toggle with CTRL+SHIFT+S

  • Crosshair Cursor – Plan View cursor now displays as a crosshair with adjustable size

  • Scale Bar Color – Configurable color in Project Settings > View > Plan View > Grid Options

  • Plot Scale Display – Current plot scale now shown and editable in the status bar

Mobile Mapping & Pavement Inspection

  • AgileAssets Integration – Seamlessly pass pavement condition data to AgileAssets Pavement Analyst-ALM platform for asset management

  • Multi-Lane Pavement Processing – Process multiple lanes during pavement inspection using the new Select lane lines feature

  • Enhanced Curb & Gutter Extraction – Add/remove node patterns when curb patterns change (e.g., driveways); save and reuse patterns

  • Orthomosaic for Pavement – Select multiple runs to create orthomosaics for pavement inspection

Survey & GIS

  • Write New/Updated Features Only – Automatically select new and updated features when uploading to GIS, eliminating manual selection

  • Attribute Synchronization – Feature attributes now synchronize with imported raw data (.job/.jxl); changes in Properties update the Feature Code Editor and vice versa

  • Autofields Support – Automatically fill point attributes including area, line length, coordinates, point numbers, and codes

  • Tunnel View Filters – Toggle visibility for five tunnel setout types (blast hole, horizontal, pipe, radial, vertical)

Mining

  • Tonnage Reporting – Specific Gravity input field added to Stockpile Report and Mine Design Conformance Report; reports now calculate and display total tonnage alongside volume

ANZ Toolbox

  • Region-specific tools added for Australia and New Zealand users (including Map Feature Attribute and other commands)

Miscellaneous Updates

  • Windows 10 Support Ended – TBC will end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025

  • Custom Fields for Site Improvements – Add user-defined fields in Project Settings for site improvement definitions; values appear in Earthwork Summary Report
