A Stability-Focused Release
This version does not include new features but provides updates that maintain platform stability and ensure compatibility with connected workflows.
Res2DInv 2024.1 continues to enhance the processing and analysis of ERT/IP geophysical survey data, streamlining the workflow from data acquisition to inversion models and interpretation.
Developed based on customer feedback, this release incorporates numerous enhancements that simplify data modification, integration, and visualization for more cohesive analysis.
Res2DInv 2024.1 also introduces user-friendly upgrades including discoverable chart highlighting, adjustable text size, simplified file naming, and improved data logging—all designed to make your workflow smoother and more intuitive.
New Features and Improvements
• Edit electrode topography and coordinates in the new “Edit Electrodes” tool. Modify existing topography or coordinates, or load from external files. Select whether distance is horizontal or along the surface, then insert topography and coordinates at electrode locations.
• New Synchronize Color Scales option in the Compare tab. Quickly synchronize all color scales to align with the selected chart. Only scales with identical units will synchronize. This option enables faster comparison of results from different data or inversions.
• New Synchronize X-Axes option in the Compare tab: Quickly synchronize all X-axes to align with the selected chart, facilitating comparison of results displayed using different visualization options, such as model versus measured pseudo-sections.
• Export inversion models to Geosoft grid format. Note: This operation converts unstructured grids to structured grids and modifies inversion results.
• New Settings tool with default settings for loading data:
• Automatically switch electrode positions if negative geometry factors are given but positive resistivity values are provided.
• Automatically assigns the same sign to resistivity and geometric factors if they differ, ensuring positive resistivity values.
• Automatically removes negative resistivity values.
• New data merging tool: Combines multiple Res2DInv .dat files into a single .dat file.
• Editable color scales: Changes made in the color scale editor apply in real-time to the graph. This makes it easier to verify if edited color scales produce the desired results.
• New geometric factor processing filter: Disable or enable data within specified minimum and maximum geometric factor levels.
• New inversion settings: Generate model blocks based on sensitivity values. This option uses sensitivity values as guidance to arrange blocks within the model. Models created using sensitivity values increase block width near the sides of deeper model sections to enhance block sensitivity values.
• Data loading: Automatically disables negative data. This setting can be modified in the new settings tool.
• Show electrodes: Display or remove electrodes from the graph. This option is available on all tabs within the settings list for each chart.
