Description

Answering the call for tools to develop innovative, greener products, the latest version of LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10 integrates advanced application-oriented simulators for powertrain, vehicle dynamics and aerospace design applications. A powerful authoring platform, the latest release includes major enhancements in terms of physics, usability and efficiency. Designed as the multi-physics tool to help engineers create the most innovative products as early as possible, LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10 is a substantive and open platform, supporting multi-domain application-oriented solutions, during all steps of model-driven product development. Like its predecessors, LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10 confirms LMS’ investment in customer innovation particularly in regards to mechatronic simulation. “For some time, the Navistar Engine Group has been looking for an integrated simulation tool to model the complete vehicle thermal management system comprised of the engine cooling system, lubrication system, vehicle front-end heat exchangers and the engine. After careful review and benchmarking, we found LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10 to be the tool that met our needs. With LMS’ responsive development team, Navistar now has a streamlined process based on upfront analysis using the integrated platform capabilities of LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10,” stated Eduardo Gonçalves, Project Engineer, Thermal-Fluid Systems Group, Advanced Analysis and Simulation, Navistar. The “hottest” new functionality in LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10 is certainly the advanced dedicated simulators for powertrain, vehicle dynamics and aerospace applications. Building on the success of the original vehicle energy management simulator, the new ones not only ease the design of related sub-systems and components, but also efficiently assess energy flows within the systems. The automotive-oriented simulators include new templates for parallel hybrid development with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and start-and-stop templates for sequential gearbox architectures amongst others. Another focus in this release is electric and hybrid electric vehicle design. With dedicated templates integrating pre-built sub-systems and a specific set of simulators for electric powertrain early sizing, LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10 users can analyze everything from electric vehicle engine and battery design to the full system architecture. For the aerospace community, LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim Rev 10 offers two new simulators for rejected take-off maneuvers and electrical network design. Besides new ease-of-use features like the customizable 2D dashboard and the power sensors, the latest version includes significant library and model enhancements like real-time compatibility for all fluids libraries, new real gas mixtures capabilities, new refrigerants, such as R404a, R410a, and NH3, and advanced electro-mechanical actuators.
