Description

Widely used for design of shear walls, bridge piers as well as typical framing elements in buildings, spColumn (formerly pcaColumn, PCACOL, IrrCOL) can investigate sections that are impossible to find on design charts or do by hand.

spColumn, formerly pcaColumn/PCACOL/IrrCOL, is for the design and investigation of reinforced concrete sections subject to axial and flexural loads. The section can be rectangular, round or irregular, with any reinforcement layout or pattern. Slenderness effects can be considered. The program offers investigation of irregularly shaped, reinforced concrete column sections that may contain openings or boundary elements. You can obtain the P-M interaction diagrams from both uniaxial and biaxial runs, as well as the Mx-My moment contour plots from biaxial runs for even the most irregular column and shearwall sections. Slenderness effects producing magnified moments may be included in the investigation.

The top selling spColumn version 4.20 supports ACI 318-05 and CSA A23.3-04 reinforced concrete design standards. New features and interface enhancements have been implemented to increases user productivity. Multiple column sections can now be processed in batch mode using command prompt parameters and text based input files. This newly added interface enables automation and integration with third-party software helping you to complete large projects faster. Exporting column sections to DXF format and exporting points from interaction diagrams to spreadsheets are also provided among the new features to facilitate integration of spColumn with your customized design solutions.
