Bentley.SACS.V8i.SS3.v5.6.0.8

Description

New Features in SACS V8i SELECTseries 2 (v5.5) Hull Modeler Hull Modeler is a new module within the SACS suite of software. It forms a part of the SACS Marine Enterprise product. A SACS Marine Enterprise license is required to run Hull Modeler. Hull Modeler allows you to create vessel models for use with Stability, Motions and Tow. You can either read an existing barge model from the SACS Vessel Library directory, or you can create your own vessel models using the interactive modeling tools in Hull Modeler. More information on how to use Hull Modeler can be found in the user manual which can be found in the Manuals panel in the SACS Executive or in the Support tab of the Ribbon in the Hull Modeler program. Stability Stability is a new module within the SACS suite of software. It forms a part of the SACS Marine Enterprise product. A SACS Marine Enterprise license is required to run Stability. Stability allows you to perform a wide range of stability calculations on a vessel, with or without a SACS structural model as a deck cargo. You can either read an existing barge model from the SACS Vessel Library directory, or you can read in your own hull model that you have created using the SACS Hull Modeler module. Stability allows you to create compartment and tank definitions, vessel load cases (including structural cargo), and perform analyses such as upright hydrostatics, large angle stability, equilibrium calculations, auto-ballasting calculations, damage stability and longitudinal strength. More information on how to use Stability can be found in the user manual which can be found in the Manuals panel in the SACS Executive or in the Support tab of the Ribbon in the Stability program. Motions Motions is a new module within the SACS suite of software. It forms a part of the SACS Marine Enterprise product. A SACS Marine Enterprise license is required to run Motions. Motions allows you to perform a motions analysis on a vessel, with or without a SACS structural model as a deck cargo. It can compute RAOs and accelerations for a range of sea states and export a Tow input file for inertial load generation. You can either read an existing barge model from the SACS Vessel Library directory, or you can read in your own hull model that you have created using the SACS Hull Modeler module. Motions allows you to define a range of headings and sea states and calculate vessel motions using strip theory or a radiation-diffraction panel method. RAOs and other results can be tabulated and graphed and vessel motions can be visualized as a time domain simulation from the frequency domain results. More information on how to use Motions can be found in the user manual which can be found in the Manuals panel in the SACS Executive or in the Support tab of the Ribbon in the Motions program.
