PowerSHAPE 2013’s improved Direct Modelling tools are easier to use, more flexible, and even simpler to control. Dynamic feedback shows rotation axes, angles and distances, letting you make the manufacturing changes you need with a minimum of work. New selection tools make it easy to choose solid faces to modify. PowerSHAPE 2013 includes: Replace Face, to provide machining allowances or electrode clearances• improved Solid Core tool, to simplify extraction of complex solid regions• direct capture of point data from laser scanners• interactive nesting for efficient use of materials• Direct Modelling - Replace Face Replace Face allows you to replace selected faces of a solid with other faces of the same solid, or with a separate open solid or surface. Any other faces of the solid that are affected by the change are extended and re-trimmed as needed to maintain a closed solid. Replace Face can be used to remove or modify complex features of a solid, to provide machining allowances, or clearances for EDM electrodes. Solid Core The new Solid Core tool automatically selects the smallest rectangular or cylindrical blank that will fully enclose the selected solid faces. Once the blank is chosen and displayed, you can edit it interactively to whatever size you require using intuitive and easy-to-use drag handles.
