Release Notes for InfoDrainage 2024.2
In line with our continued dedication to offering advanced, user-friendly solutions in drainage system design, we are excited to unveil the new Clash Detection tool, an addition to InfoDrainage Ultimate. We've also improved how you use HEC-22.
Clash Detection Analysis
This tool has been developed to be an essential asset for intricate drainage system design. It is specifically engineered to identify and visualise 'clashes' or intersections between different components within your design, such as pipes, channels, or other structures. One of the key features of the Clash Detection Analysis tool is its ability to identify both horizontal and vertical separations. You have the flexibility to set specific values for both horizontal and vertical separation. Should these values fall below the thresholds you set, the software will automatically flag and visually highlight the clash by drawing a circle at the conflict point. This proactive approach to design helps prevent potential issues that could arise during construction or operation, ensuring a more efficient and reliable system. By providing early detection of such conflicts, the tool allows for immediate corrective actions, thus minimizing potential construction delays and optimizing system performance.
InfoDrainage 2024.2: Clash Detection Analysis and HEC22 Inlet improvements
Furthermore, Clash Detection Analysis is seamlessly integrated into our reporting structure. Clash detection results can be included in an audit report, providing a thorough and detailed assessment of your design. Moreover, for those preferring a more spatial analysis, the locations of detected clashes can be exported to Civil 3D. This added flexibility ensures you have complete control over your design and review process, in the format that suits you best.
HEC-22 Inlets Improvements
We have significantly enhanced our HEC-22 inlet calculations, bringing them a step closer to accurately reflecting real-world conditions. Previously, our software offered a simplified version of these calculations. However, we recognized the importance of more nuanced variables in these calculations for our users. Therefore, we have extended the HEC-22 inlet calculations provided by SWMM5 in order to increase their usability in the context of design and sizing. Our improved HEC-22 inlet calculations now account for the grate type and the throat angle, both critical factors affecting water inflow rates into the inlet. By incorporating these parameters, we aim to provide a more realistic representation of how drainage inlets perform under varying conditions. These enhancements mean that you can now make more precise predictions about your drainage system's performance, giving you greater confidence in your designs and ultimately leading to more efficient and effective drainage systems.

Civil 3D interoperability
- The issue that caused Civil 3D part families not to populate in InfoDrainage during exports has been resolved.
- The issue that led to the incorrect export of invert levels in certain scenarios for pipes with reverse flows has been addressed.
- The issue associated with subcatchments not exporting in large Civil 3D model has been resolved.
General
- The issue reported with the inability to use the icon names as labels in 3D view has been fixed.
- The issue associated with duplicating the existing phase whilst having a part-family setup in InfoDrainage has been resolved.
- The issue with the temporal pattern in cumulative rainfall has been resolved
- The issue with the return period box disappearing for custom rainfall has been resolved
- The crash encountered when attempting to resize inlets in Preliminary Sizing is no longer encountered.
- The issue with the ARR box Description displaying the wrong units has been resolved.
- The crash encountered when dragging simple junctions for specific models is no longer encountered.
- The crash associated with running Quick Storage Estimate with certain rainfall methods is no longer encountered.
- The crash associated with changing the template of a manhole to a template made from another manhole has been addressed and is no longer encountered.
- When exporting drainage networks into CAD, InfoDrainage will report both the Centre-to-Centre and True lengths which will address the issues associated with pipe lengths.
- The issue reported with the Hydrobrake API not working properly has been resolved.
InfoDrainageis an automated stormwater design software program that provides comprehensive assessment of stormwater designs and is enhanced by "one-click" methodology, optimizing for all Runoff Reduction practices. Unlike many other tools and spreadsheets that assist with facility planning, InfoDrainage is integrated with CAD to shorten the design time, whatever your workflow.
