Description
Imageware 13 is a very exciting release for Siemens PLM Software. In it we focused on providing enhancements to our core functions,and on optimizing the workflow and product ease of use. Some of the key features for this release include:
* A new Evaluation Console brings the analysis tools that used to appear at the bottom of the Imageware window into a single console that appears on the right side of the viewport.
* A new Freeform Polygons command lets you globally modify a polygon cloud based on user-specified regions.
* A new Curve Based Polygons command lets you globally modify the shape of a polygonal cloud using one or more constraint curves.
* For the Point Pairs and Feature Based alignment commands, Imageware now uses an enhanced viewport display that shows the source geometry, destination geometry, and full view in separate windows.
New and modified Commands
The following commands have either been introduced with this release or have been changed from previous releases. for more information regarding a particular change, please see the topic "What's new in Imageware 13" in the Imageware Help Library.
•Create sketch image
An enhanced Create Sketch Image dialog box and viewport handles make it easier to place, orient, and resize imported sketch images.
•Lights
A revised set of light commands, with enhanced dialog boxes and viewport handles, makes it easier to create and edit lights.
•3D B-Spline
An enhanced 3D B-Spline Curve command now combines the 3D B-Spline and Control Points curve creation commands into a single dialog box. At the top of the dialog, you can now select either Knots or Control Points to specify how you want to create a curve.
•Simple Fillet Surface
The new Simple Fillet Surface command creates a smooth transition (fillet surface) between two sets of surfaces using a constant radius. This command is a simplified version of the Fillet command, and lets you create constant radius fillets using a simpler interface.
•Global Model Freeform Polygons
The new Freeform Polygons command lets you globally modify a polygon cloud based on user-specified regions.
•Global Model Curve Based Polygons
The new Curve Based Polygons command lets you globally modify the shape of a polygonal cloud using one or more constraint curves. When you control point edit the constraint curve, Imageware modifies the polygon cloud to follow your curve edits.
•Circle-Select Points
For the Circle-Select Points command: When you choose the Select Screen Points panel, Imageware displays a crayon tool that makes it easy to select points. A new Selection Depth option lets you easily specify how deep you want your selection to be.
•Rapid Surfacing
The Rapid Surfacing commands let you reverse engineer a polygon cloud quickly, where speed is more important than surface quality. Imageware generates a set of G1 continuous output surfaces from a curve network that you create. Accuracy to the polygon cloud is more important than smoothness.
•Alignment Preview Windows
For the Point Pairs and Feature Based alignment commands, Imageware now uses an enhanced viewport display that shows the source geometry, destination geometry, and full view in separate windows.
